Sani Abacha (20 September 1943 – 8 June 1998) was aNigerian Army general and politician who served as the de facto President of Nigeriafrom 1993 to 1998. Early life and education A Kanuri from Borno, Abacha was born and brought up in Kano, Nigeria.
